  进入80年代之后,随着我国铁路运输密度的加大,繁忙干线的维修工作采用传统的方式和手段已无法完成。与此同时,轨道结构的日益现代化也向养路机械的作业质量提出了更高的要求。在这种形势下,我国养路机械化工作不可避免地迎来了变革。于1983年签署了RM80型道清筛机、08-32型起拨道抄平捣固车、DGS62N型道床动力稳定车以及SSP103型配砟整形车各1台的订货合同。次年下半年,这批由奥地利进口的大型养路机械次第到达天津新港,配属给沈阳铁路局锦州第一线路大修段4台、北京铁路局北京机械化养路队7台。开创了我国铁路大型养路机械作业的新局面。
